The last couple days, Ava and I have had some fabulous fun girl time together. Caleb's bus pulls up at 12:45 Monday thru Friday, brings him to kindergarten for the afternoon, and then the same bus brings him home at 4:00. This 3 plus hours time period is typically spent with any of the following-- Ava taking a little nap, me doing work around the house (laundry, mowing the grass, etc.), or a grocery trip to the store with Ava. Caleb and I have had just mommy/son time, going places like the Train Museum which is one of his favorites. I am always going places with both Caleb & Ava and they have so much fun together on all our outings. However, the last couple days I decided that Ava and I should have some special mommy/daughter time. Yesterday we headed off to the MN Zoo. Pulling in to the zoo parking lot, I saw so many yellow school buses I was prepared for a very busy zoo with end of the year field trip groups. However, our timing could not have been better, for all these groups were literally on there way out as we came in....we had the run of the zoo outside on this beautiful day. Ava loves animals, and so the zoo is always so fun for her. And how I enjoyed so much being able to just watch her take her time with whatever animals she wanted to stop to look at. Today, we went to Cole's salon and had pedicures. How very excited Ava was this morning when I told her we were going to go to get our nails painted. I got a very much needed express pedicure (a little buffing, filing & painting), and then Ava got her toe nails painted the color she picked out on the big nail color chart. I love this girl of mine and I look forward to all the years ahead of our special girl time:)
