The last couple summers, Caleb & Ava have had so much fun going for over-night weekends at the cottage and visits to the farm. The cottage in Avon MN and is owned by my mom's cousin Carol who lives in Chicago, and rarely is able to use it, and so she says she is so happy that we all are able to enjoy it and make great memories with my kids. It is very tiny and rustic, but it is all we need to enjoy the lake, fishing, campfires, long nature walks, and pancake breakfasts.
The farm is just 15 minutes down the road in Albany MN. It is where my mom grew up. It is also where my parents, brothers and I spent many a weekend at during the summer when I was growing up. All the cousins, Aunts & Uncles, Grandma and Grandpa, and Great-Grandma Molly would gather for great food, baseball games in the dirt, fishing and swimming on the farm lake, and many more memories. Caleb & Ava love stopping in there to see the farm life- cows, kittens, tractors and horses. My mom's brother Paul and his son Jason run the farm now. This weekend was Caleb & Ava's cousin/my nephew Jack's (2 yrs 4 mo. old) first time with to the cottage & farm, along with his dad- my brother Chris. We could not have had more beautiful weather- sunny, blue skies, no humidity 75-80 degrees. Caleb and Ava just love this summer tradition of weekends at the cottage, and we will be back soon:)
