Halloween 2012

Halloween 2012 was another super one!  Both my kids set a record this year by changing their minds so many times I can't even keep count, on one what costume they wanted to dress up in.  Caleb finally decided on Storm Trooper, which was a good cross between many things he wanted to be: ninja/ghost/super hero.  And my Ava, as you can see in the pictures below, was a cowgirl when we went to Halloween at the Zoo a couple weeks before actual October 31 Halloween.  However, by Halloween she REALLY wanted to be a mermaid again for the 3rd year in a row.  I already had a mermaid outfit at home so I let her do just that and it will be fun to look back on how much she LOVED being a mermaid for halloween!
Leading up to Halloween, we carved two pumpkins at our house as a family, and then carved our other two pumpkins with the kids in our cul de sac over at the Wilson's garage.
Trick or Treating in our neighborhood was for our second year now a blast again!  Our cul de sac set up our table as usual, adorned with hot apple cider, pumpkin bars/muffins, halloween themed desserts and of course LOTS of candy!  We also had a portable firepit going which kept us all toasty as the night went on.  The kids ran excitedly through the neighborhood with all their friends knocking on every door.  Now the only question is, will Ava want to be a mermaid for a 4th year in a row next halloween??....:)
