Summer heat = Water fun!

The last few days we finally got the hot temps we have been waiting for to get out and enjoy the water...however, today was VERY hot with temps in the high 90 degrees. Over these past few days here- Caleb, Ava and I have stayed cool in the water with along with great company. Tuesday we hit up Sand Point Beach with my brother Chris and nephew Jack. Then later that afternoon, we went to the Burnsville Nicollet Fountains with Kristie, Mallory & Mikayla. Wednesday we were back at the fountains, this time with my cousin Kelsey and her kids Tate and Ruby. Thursday (today), we went to Sand Point this morning from 10am to noon where we met up with Kristie, Mallory & Mikayla and also with Kristy and Jack. Then after naptime, everyone from this morning came over to our house for some backyard fun in the pool, slip n' slide and sprinkler. Tomorrow is going to be another super hot one, and I'm sure we will be staying cool and having fun somewhere in water again.

MN Twins game

Tonight I took Caleb to the MN Twins game, along with my dad and brother Chris. Growing up, my parents brought me and my brothers to many a Twins game at the old Metrodome, however this was my first Twins game at Target Field. What an amazing place it is! This was Caleb's first ever Twins game and wow, did he love it! So much excitement in his eyes taking it all in and asking lots of great questions. The weather was perfect. When we got there at 6:00, the sun was still shining bright. As the evening went on we watched, laughed and cheered as the lights came on...great night:)

Rodeo & Canterbury Park

This weekend was all about cowboy/girl hats, boots and horses. Saturday morning Caleb, Ava, me, and Grandma Mary & Grandpa Albie headed to Granite Falls for the day to take in the Western parade and rodeo. We left the rainy, cold, gray weather behind here and drove to sun and blue skies in Granite Falls. Caleb & Ava have never been to a rodeo before. Growing up, my parents took me and my brothers camping to this Granite Falls rodeo every summer. It's probably been about 20 years since I've been back, so it definitely brought back memories for me. Watching Caleb and Ava take it all in, and make new memories is so fun.
Sunday I took the kids to Canterbury Park, which I have been doing the last few years. Pony rides, face painting, and horse racing.
Another fun-filled summer weekend:)
