Ava had her first big dance recital and she did amazing! Growing up, I danced from age 4 thru high school and did many a dance recital and competition. What memories this brings back. Ava has shown throughout the year at dance class how persistent she is to follow and perfect what they teach her from the pointing of toes, plies, shuffle steps, 1st position, 2nd position, 3rd position and her dance teacher says she is a wonderful student and dancer, always showing up to class to learn and do her best. The dance recital dress rehearsal was on Thursday May 17 in which my parents, Caleb & I went. Our cul de sac neighbor and Ava's friend Scarlett also dances at Elite dance studio and was there in her costume to practice. So we got a very cute picture of the two of them. Scarlett's brother Simon, Caleb's good friend, was also there to watch with Caleb as their sisters practiced on stage. Then the big recital on Sunday May 20. Ava's dance song was 'Knock On Wood'. My parents, Caleb, Craig, me and my friend Kelly & her daughter Emma (who live next door to us) were all in the front row for the recital. Ava spotted us right away, and I knew it could go one of two ways....and she chose to give us a big wave, smiles and do her dance and every step of it so very proudly! Ava is very excited to dance class again next year and I could not be prouder of my girl!
